Are you always aware of your website’s availability? How often do you get notified of instabilities or long response times, all of which are a first indicator that something is going severly wrong! In order to be able to react immediately and minimize potential losses caused by downtimes keep a close look at your websites.
Very helpful in this task are services like Pingdom, that help you track the uptime, downtime and the overall performance of your website. Pingdom observes the availability of webservices from multiple sites around the world and generates reports about it. According to numbers provided on their own website, there are more than half a million users worldwide using their offerings.
As a special service Pingdom visualises downtimes on a map. It shows detected outages around the world during the last hour. The animated gif shows around 20.000 outages, primarily in Europe and the United States.
Pingdom startet as a company in Sweden and was bought by an American company based in Austin, Texas and proably has its majority of customers coming from these regions.
Pingdom Monitoring can be used on various devices including desktop computers. It is also available as an optimised iOS app or Android app. There are different price packages available (the more sites you want to track in parallel, the higher the costs).
