This is a pointer to a white paper on business continuity, published by Citrix in collaboration with IDG. The paper provides an overview about what has to be considered to have working business continuity plan in place.
The last few years we saw a wide ranging migration to the cloud. In many ways there are benefits gained for many areas of IT maintenance. The field of business continuity planning though sees an increased level of complexity because of the dependance on distributed IT resources.
The current white paper (available via the Computer World website) provides an overview for all the main building blocks of a business continuity plan. It starts with an overview of potential sources of disruptions and subsequently covers the elements a plan to minimize outages should have. As other resources in the field the need to actually test a plan before an outage actually happens is prominently covered.
One key assumption of this particular approach suggests to rely stronger on workforce mobility and mobile access solutions to enable productivity for the workforce. The white paper has four specific case studies from companies which have adopted solutions by this particular company.
